**Mountains Meet**

03 Sep

swallowed by the
big bird
taken to the farthest
land
to swim in books
hunting for those
diplomas, degrees
masters
& Phds
meeting new friends
& love flings

years pass
the big bird returns
to claim its child
return the ripe fruit
to its original branch
back to the
mathaland

so friends part
lovers kiss & hug
to be seperated
once more
by mountains
oceans & seas
unsure whether they
will ever
meet
the plane lifts
tears & sadness
linger
yet hope abounds
eager for a time
when destiny prevails
for though mountains
stand still
people do meet
& smile
& hug
& kiss

a fun read, with great images of what I imagine is a re-union and all the complex emotions and memories. So fleeting — so rich

Those college/university friendships – some last, sadly most don’t. I love the narrative thread running through this 🙂

I like this. For those who have this type of experience, this really hits the nail on the head. I have friendships from college over twelve years ago that are still going strong. Great write – nice and uplifting.

High School and University reunions are such an experience. Had my 50th High School a year or two ago. Just couldn’t believe how old some of them got!!!
