When Lies Die

10 Oct

…they look at we
but they don’t see
They ain’t blind
you see
history makes a’ minds weak
you get me?
The lie
entrenched deep
ba’ queens,
ignorant kings!
that tha slave bears tha mark of sin
coal-bronze-golden-caramel skin!
so people can LIVE!
We bear not tha mark of sin
but tha banner of magnificent DREAMS!
like those of Malcolm
Mandela & King!
No longer in darkness
now fully conscious we see
Our ebony souls ain’t cold, No!
Like coal on fire
we burnin’ hundred-fifty degrees!
hotter than molten steel!
No longer slaves
We’re mentally Free!
No longer in slumber
awakened we Dare to Belive!

so Live Big
Fulfill tha Dream
Change yo’ Reality
Be tha BEST you can Be!

This is a rhythmic and powerful poem. History has made too many minds weak. There is great strength here in seeing the lie die.
