My African People

Where is the grace, my African people? Where is the strength that has been embedded within us from the womb? Where is the pride and uprightness that elongates our spine into an upward position. Where is the posture of control and power? Where are you, my African people? I see the outer shell that has been left behind. Reminding us of what we use to be, and where we are now. Without the inner core, who are we? And what shall become of us? Even in a rigid skin, the depth and strength dares to show. Rebuild yourselves, my African people. Rekindle that delight that portrayed us as a great, fierce, multitude of man, or strength. Where are you? Lost? Abandoned, down right deflated? Pick yourself UP! Allow the resiliency to flow through your veins and keep guarded in your ways. So you’ve been raped and contaminated…
